nall *1012: Go God Go* SOUTH PARK

TITLE: “GO, GOD. GO! PART II”
Episode #1012/Air date: November 1, 2006
Cartman’s plan to propel himself into the future to arrive at the
precise release date of the newest, hottest, game goes horribly wrong. reply -
Rebecca_Cutswald Hehehe... I am soo not getting into creationism vs evolution debates.

*ties gag over mouth*
This looks good... even if it is *murphle*probablycreationismbs*murphle* reply -
iceiwynd :B I think it sounds good. Can't wait to see some kind of picture or clip for it, though, to get a better idea of it.

Gamers here, are there any new games coming out soon that this could possibly be parodying? reply -
misscutiepie1330 Strange enough, I'm not screaming for joy. It sounds good, though, just not feeling it yet. reply

Erm... I have a pretty good hunch it will be that new sim game. I forget what it's called but it's by the makers of sim and you get to play god by creating life and letting it evolve and move to other planets. It's been in the works (gamer zines ads promos ect) for a year now so there's a lot of hype about it.
It's just occured to me that they'll probably just make fun of the "big bang" theory too. Which is a little out there. reply -
professor_butters1 This is kind of wild, because KyleTheSkeptic's got a fic called *Unintelligent Design* that covers some of this. Though I'm sure they'll handle it very differently. And I'm *very* curious to see what happens with Cartman's plan to propel himself into the future, though I am guessing that he overshoots the game release date, anywhere from a little to a lot. reply

-
Unhooded Kenny Sounds like a rewrite of the Founding Fathers episode where Eric attempts to go into the future while the rest do their homework, and the towns people take sides over the evolution issue and kill eachother. Hopefully it won't be like this cos it's already been done. I'm hoping for a Time Machine parody where the boys are trying to stop him and they all end up in the future, the far future. reply

-
Kyle the Skeptic I'm reminded of what Kyle said in "Mystery of the Urinal Deuce" about the theory of evolution, so chances are they won't be defending creationism. I just hope that if they end up making fun of creationism, it doesn't end up attracting hordes of rabid creationists to this site the way said episode did with 9/11 CTists.

Of course The Simpsons and Family Guy have already burned creationism, both in the last season in fact.
The game is called "Spore" by the way.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spore_%28video_game%29 reply -
mammotha oh yeah This will be fun :] reply

-
MyGod Spore. That sounds like the best guess so far.

It certainly sounds like a different direction for the episode so it could be refreshing. reply -
I R Smart Ive been actually waiting for this ever since I saw them on NIghtline. Here is a link to all of you that didnt see it. They talk about everything SP. And, in fact, the reason why ive been waiting for this. Because they said there that theyre plannig on doing this kind of episode.

PART ONE - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvVMVvZBATk
PART TWO - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE_zEJL0Km4
They also mention their stand on this issue. Worth a watch.
Personally I cant wait to see this.
P.S
Was there a part one? Or did they just do this like in the Return Of Chef. "Previously on south park" when it didnt actually happen? reply -
iceiwynd I have... absolutely no idea why there's a Part II on the end of it so suddenly now. o_o; That's really, um... Yeah, I'll have to wait to see a bit more information/the actual episode.

The preview picture looks pretty sweet, though. I really wanna see this now. Still looks pretty good. reply -

P.S
Was there a part one? Or did they just do this like in the Return Of Chef. "Previously on south park" when it didnt actually happen?
No their never was a part one.
I'l just copy and paste what I said in the other thread:
Yay!! An evoloution episode. That's another great topic that south park hasn't tackled yet. As always I'm excited for the new episode.
What I'm relly wondering is how the title plays into the episode. Go,God,Go part 2? Does that mean that we might get to see God again? And Why is it part 2? Could this mean that their will be a part 1? I think that it could be a possibility. It would be like what George Lucas did with the star wars movies. You get the 2nd half of the story first, and then you get the 1st half. But,I could be wrong.
Anyway, this looks like a great episode. I think this will be the big atheism episode that M&T talked about on nightline reply -
Levani I dont think that they will make fun of game where you play god.game name is spore,it won best game of the year 2006.from that i know only but i never played it.anyway i hope it has nothing to do with any game, still i dont have a good feeling about this episode,it doesn't look like that it will be good reply

Spore isn't out yet. They haven't even finished making the game yet. And I read in a magazine that they do not know yet if it will turn out to be a fun game, and if the game will actually work. So, I'm guessing that's what they mean by "game goes horribly wrong" if it is based on Spore? I don't know. reply -
Tweeks_Coffee Well, I could definitely see the Spore gaming appealing to Cartman. getting to play God? He tried to do that with the sea people too. Somehow I think the episode will have Cartman getting lost in time. The game will be the initial reason, but that won\'t be the focus of the episode.

It could be rather funny to see them mock creationism. I just hope that they don\'t get too preachy in the episode and keep it funny. reply -
BatJelly Yeah, it does look like this one will be the episode they hinted at on Nightline.

And Matt's reluctance to admit a belief in god (during the interview) combined with Trey's pejorative misunderstandings about atheism may make it an interesting episode. reply -
Olivia42 I'm 96% sure the game will be based on Spore. I mean, it's a game of Intelligent Design where you play God that is the most anticipated game of next year. What else could it be?

I'm loving the "part two." If I had my way, a "part one" would come sometime next season when none of us are expecting it. But I doubt that will happen.
My view on evolution: I don't like how Christians think this basic science does anything to discount the existence of God. All it does is discount the Watchmaker argument. Big deal. If your faith is strong enough, you don't need such proof. A truly great sculptor leaves no fingerprints. reply -
cartman's girl Sounds like a great episode........did I miss part I?? reply

-
Aym_Dand I predict there will be no contentious arguments over inteligent design/evolution in this thread. reply

-
crazyQH I'm really, REALLY excited for this. It's funny, because just yesterday I was thinking how awesome it would be if they made an episode where the boys-or at least one of them- traveled through time, and then this morning I check the new episode discription and whattya know? I mean, I guess it was inevitable, but still, how awesome it that!?!?

Anyway, yes, this whole, "Part two" thing really has me confused, and extremely anxious to see the episode. My guess is they'll make a part one next week explaining some events of this episode. I'm just hoping Cartman doesn't consume the majority of this episode, but I'm doubting it.
So anyway, I'm extremely excited, I also have a feeling this has been planned out for a while. This episode seems like it could possibly generate a suffiant amount of hype. We will have to wait and see I guess, in the mean time I'll be anxously checking for any clips that they may post. reply -
Taranis_Music Oh shit. Creationism Vs. Evolution. I'm not even going into those threads when the time comes. I stayed the hell away from the 9/11 megathread after 1010 and I'm doing the same with this. reply

-
Mr. Hat_DX27 Sounds like a great episode........did I miss part I??

No, I think they may be referencing something in the episode, I’m not sure really.
I’ve heard about Spore, and it looks pretty sweet.
But yeah, the ep looks pretty neat. Judging from the preview pic I’d say Cartman gets himself into quite a pickle. Sounds like a fun watch! reply -
DevilAngel16 ...Part...II? What?! I'm sooo confused. D: Could this possibly mean this episode will be a two-parter, and they're calling this one Part II to confuse the fuck out of us? Hmm...then again, maybe I'm jut over analyzing the title too much.

This episode looks really good though. Time travel and evolution all wrapped into one episode (possibly two? I have no idea.)
I dunno, I'm honestly very confused. My perplexity makes me all the more eager to see this episode on Wednesday, though. I can't wait until it airs. reply -
Rooster_Costume Yeah, the title is very confusing. Perhaps because it's a time-traveling thing it'll be told in flashback. I'm not sure.

I think this should be pretty good. I've been looking forward to this episode since they announced on Nightline that they were gonna do it. reply -
Dude Cartman Rocks Heh, somehow I like the fact they called in Part II, It makes it more interesting. reply

-
crazyQH

Exactly, the confusion makes me want to see it even more, and this episode certainly raises many questions. Not only is the title confuzzling, but the whole premise of the episode seems really crazy. (Yet again, when isn't South Park crazy? ) I really, really can't wait for this, I hope they put up a clip tonight. ^__^
It says somewhere in the episode discription that Cartman's new addiction is killing him. I wonder what that's gonna mean, and if someone is gonna have to save his life. reply -

Where's it say that? I don't see it. reply -
swellman7 I hope they put up a clip tonight.

They usually don't do that until tuesday or wednesday.
