triplemultiplex Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Hey look, Cartman's idea to make money on the internet is getting Butters to sing something kind of gay. The evidence is overwhelming, fatass!

Frickin' hilarious, though.
Question is, how does posting a video on YouTube make you money? It makes Google money, but not "You". reply -
eph26 Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion That song is awesome. I love Butters. He's so tragic. reply

-
triplemultiplex Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion All those YouTube stars having a big brawl; that was really good. Hope everyone saw one of there favorites.

I'm also cracking up at the buddy-pal-guy runner. reply -
jiffypb30 Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion The Butters song and dance, for those that don't know is a spoof on this video clip.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU reply

CobainIsMyBitch Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion did anyone else notice that Kenny didnt appear at all? he appeared in 1201, didnt in 1202, did in 1203, and now didnt in 1204. do you think this pattern will continue the whole season? reply

Miko hanyou Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion OMG That freak chris crocker is there! and the dramatic gopher!

*Honks for Ike* I like this episode. 8/10!
I love the song that the canadians sung. It's catchy. If canada were on strike, i would miss their 'break-into-song' songs. reply -
Delilah Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Butters' dance was so cute! And the seen with all the YouTube stars fighting, that was great! I thought the episode was pretty good in general, so 8/10 reply

-
wazzadoin Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion It would have been amazing if the Canadians were Rick Rolled.

Good to Greatish episode. reply -
HAcoreRD Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Damn Numa Numa and SW guy.

But Britney Alone guy is 2 episodes late.
where was ORLY owl?
Otherwise decent episode, the anti Canada i found amusing.
But episode lacked Kenny and a strong story. Seemed like internet fan service. reply -
Raptortim Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I loved the episode! Butter's song, the internet stars, Canada on strike like the WGA, it was all awesome! reply

-
jmaynard Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I just caught the tail end of the episode after a friend IMd me...but she tells me they got my voice and accent all wrong. I'm from Texas and sound like it, but apparently they made me sound like I'm from Minnesota (where I currently live).

(Yes, I'm Jay Maynard, the Tron Guy.) reply -
Sonic Man78 Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Who would've thought Phillip was diabetic? Not me, no sir! Did anyone here besides me find the Danish characters from Denmark odd looking?

I enjoyed it. Perhaps a Terrance and Phillip Spinoff?? I'd love that. reply -
triplemultiplex Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Oops, make that the buddy-friend-guy runner.

Remarkable coincidence that YouTube was central to the plot of this episode and now it's on that Root of all Evil show right now.
All that YouTube stuff was golden. The Canada strike story lost a little steam in act 3. I think they could've thought of a funnier token prize to give the Canadians. I like that they didn't even try to reconcile the WGA acronym.
Damn fine episode.
Now to the bloopers thread to give South Park a geography lesson for the end of the Canada on Strike song. reply -
duckay_ Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion i never heard of the tron guy. haha reply

-
HAcoreRD Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion thinking of it. I loved the anti-family guy reference.

My brother was pissed i laughed reply -
CobainIsMyBitch Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion yeah Danish guys were weird. they were like half canadian and half the rest of the world. normal eyes, canadian mouth. reply

I cought that, too! Matt's immitation of Peter Griffin was epic win. reply -
SirKerrek Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I really enjoyed this episode. My favorite part was all the viral videos fighting, and it proved to me and all my buddies that this generation lives on the internet.

Some of the other stuff was less than good. And no at all. Butters's song was okay, and the "friend, guy, buddeh" joke got a little tired.
But overall, quite good. Certainly not a low point anyway (cough*1202*cough). 8/10. Nice work. reply -

Watch "Cartoon Wars" if you haven't seen it
Great episode by the way. Episode 3 and 4 of this season definitely made up for 1 and 2. reply -
CHEESE_HEAD Canada on strike! A spoof on family guy, the return of Terence and Philip, all internet sensations in a brawl "chocolate pain" and totally ripping on the writers strike this is defiantly the best episode of the season! "I'm not your buddy, guy!" reply

-
AssassinKenny Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Dumb episode IMO, only good parts were the Family Guy ref and Cartman's reaction and then the youtube stars fight. reply

-
HAcoreRD Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion Dumb episode IMO, only good parts were the Family Guy ref and Cartman's reaction and then the youtube stars fight.

it was ok.
Only dumb thing was the buddy, guy, friend time waste. reply -
Amrryn Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion The Butters song and dance, for those that don't know is a spoof on this video clip.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU

OMG THATS SO AWESOME.
I laughed for 10 minutes straight after watching that! Haha!
I loved the internet you tube celebrities! GO NUMA NUMA GUY!
Butters is officially my favorite South Park character after this episode!
8/10!! reply -
kidextremity Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I was wondering where they stood on the Writers Guild strike...

Seems to me that they came out pretty solidly in the "What a friggin' waste of time" camp.
Brilliant allegory, and good to see that some folk in the entertainment world don't blindly and unquestioningly think the WGA was 100% right on all points. reply -
AngusMcTavish Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I loved it! As old as the running gag got re: fwiend/buddy/guy, I still found it funny.

Yeah, the YT starts got the biggest laughs. The Dramatic Gopher was hilarious! Although I was seriously thanking the panda that creamed Chris Crocker (is the name right?).
Two Q's regarding the songs:
"What What in the Butt"--was that an older song?
And who did the song that Numa Numa danced to? I thought it was Erasure, but that can't be right. reply -
James Pooner Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion It was a funny episode, guy. reply

-
Zumi Re: *1204: Canada on Strike* Post-Air Discussion I would give it 6.5/10.

Didn't find the whole Canada on strike story funny. The running gag, "I am not guy friend. I am not your friend buddy. I am not your buddy guy." wasn't funny the first time or any of the other times they kept doing it.
Only parts I laugh at was the Family Guy part and the youtube stars. reply -
